Project Brief
The project involved a detailed annual inspection of The Valley stadium, focusing on all structures, installations, and safety components. This included a full review of the stadium’s main structures, seating areas, stairways, ramps, and boundary walls. We liaised closely with the Stadium Maintenance Manager and prepared a thorough report outlining any necessary repairs and improvements. Following our inspection, we issued a 12-month Safety Certificate, ensuring compliance with SGSA regulations.
Technical Information
The Valley has a unique history, originally developed from a sand and chalk pit in 1919. Its current structure includes a West Stand built in phases from 1991 onwards, an East Stand developed in 1994, and a redeveloped North Stand completed in 2002. During our inspection, particular attention was given to the integrity of the framed galvanised trusses supporting the South Terrace roof, which includes corrugated asbestos roofing. We ensured that all parts of the stadium met the stringent safety standards required for modern sports venues.
